Default Monk Hero Partner Build

So I've recently begun doing the daily mission and sometimes the daily bounty for some coins. In most of the PuGs I'm in my monk partner is terrible so I was wondering what would be a decent Hero Monk build to pair with me.

I can do Protting/Healing quite easily I'm just not too sure what is optimal for a hero.

ATM my Hero is running

Patient
WoH
Rejuv
D-Kiss
Cure Hex
Res Chant
Channeling
Power Drain

My healing heroes run that bar, sans the last three. I bring mantra of inscriptions, ether signet and leech signet. Heroes don't know how to channel tank, and power drain costs energy/has a long recharge. With the mantra, you not only speed the recharge of leech/ether, you also speed the recharge of rejuv. Heroes like to abuse signets, so I take advantage of that.

Just a personal preference. FYI: I put about 9-10 in inspiration.

Looks good, I don't pve much so I'm not very familiar with the ins and outs of heroes, also what sort of weps should I give them? and runes/insig setup.

You don't need that many red-bar-goes-up skills.

My heros usually looks like this:

1.Dwayna's Kiss
2.Word of Healing
3.Spotless Mind
4.Cure Hex
5.Rebirth
6.Gylph of Lesser Energy
7.Aegis
8.Spirit Bond

14 (12+1+1) Healing Prayers
11 (10+1) Protection prayers
9 (8+1) Divine Favor

Word and Kiss are all you really need for red barring. Aegis takes a lot of damage from your team. If you give heroes a hard prot, make it Spirit Bond. Heroes suck at preprotting but are great when it comes to reacting to damage. That's what Spirit Bond is all about.

As for hero gear, they usually get what drops for me/I see fit from /bonus items. A Minor Vigor is certainly not wrong.

As for insignias, I'd give them Survivor, Disciple's maybe Radiant (if I cared).

Disable Rebirth and micro it when needed.

I usually run odd bars and make full use of Monk PvE skills.

1.Reversal of Fortune
2.Aura of Faith
3.Seed of Life
4.Dismiss Condition
5.Rebirth
6.Protective Spirit
7.Shield of Absorption/Shielding Hands
8.Selfless Spirit

1.Reversal of Fortune
2.Shield of Deflection
3.Seed of Life
4.Dismiss Condition
5.Rebirth
6.Protective Spirit
7.Shield of Absorption/Shielding Hands
8.Selfless Spirit

14 (12+1+1) Protection Prayers
13 (12+1) Divine Favor

Selfless Spirit is still very strong (after all the buffs and nerfs). Seed of Life is even stronger. Both are usually on my bars.

Shield of Deflection is fun occasionally, if you expect to run into a lot of physicals (also good for posing). Aura of Faith is another excellent prot option imho, especially paired with a Word of Healing (huge heals).

Shield of Absorption/Shielding Hands is priceless in PvE.

Where I don't care much about hero weapons, I only use perfect gear on my chars. Weapon switching, efficiency sets, some field observation (check where the damage goes to make full use of Seed of Life) etc is all what makes you a better player. Survivor Insignia works in PvE. Superior Vigor, what else.

As you can see I make heroes focus on either conditions or hexes. AI won't exploit the fact that one monk can't remove hexes/conditions.

The beauty about PvE is that you know what to expect. You can buildwars for every explorable/mission/quest. In addition of making things much easier, it makes it less boring.

I like Aura of Faith, but I prefer ritualist or necromancer over monk (hero)
Aura of Faith + healer hench (or human) = big prot/heal

heroes are pretty bad with AoF,as they spam it everytime you take damage, but in hardmode AoF is always welcome.

imo, if u running with heroes, you should come prot monk and let the healing stuff for 1 or 2 N/Rt heroes. You will notice Xinrae weapon builds with Life, Vengeful Weapon , mend body and soul, spirit light, spirit transfer, flesh of my flesh(or death pact) and sig of lost souls for N/Rt are very very efective since heroes deal dmg and heal quite alot with those bars. This is particulary true if u land decent prots on your team partners. For optimal healing results you should have a BIP hero (i would take a monk smiter with BIP and well of blood for instance).Notice you will always add some dmg to your team build if u use smite skills allied to Weapon skills like Xinrae and Vengefull

The problem there is I have to take 2 heroes, I'm looking for something to run on just 1 hero when another decent monk can't be found. N/Rts lack the healing power I'm looking for, so far I've had pretty good success with me running an AoF prot bar and a hero using UA Heal since they have ungodly reflexes with UA, its also nice not to keep clicking that stupid icon .

By basic setup is me protting with...

PnH, RoF, Shielding Hands, SoL, Aegis, PS, EVWoC, EVWoH

and a N/Rt with...

Xinrae's Weapon, Mend Body & Soul, Spirit Light, Protective Was Kaolai, Rejuvenation, Recuperation, Foul Feast, FoMF.

Lots of people don't take Recuperation because of it's 25e cost. But it's a massive amount of healing, +3 health regen for 39 seconds, yes please! It affects all Allies not just party members, plus being a Necro the energy is regained quickly enough.

That coupled with Recuperation is a very powerful option when engaging mobs. Even though the spirit will probably die fairly quickly, it recovers a lot of dmg from the initial engagement.

I've been out a few times without recuperation and instantly noticed the difference, give it a try perhaps.

For tougher areas I throw on a healer monk henchie aswell and that is usually more than sufficient.

What I use on dunk while im protting is,

HB
Dwaynas
Cure Hex
Patient
Power Drain
Healing Seed
Spotless Mind
Rebirth

Used to use WoH, but heros fail with it, and they fail with protting of any kind. Healing seed they use surprisingly well, recommend trying it. Bit low on red bar skills maybe, but make up for it with me running pure prot bar, damage mitigation > red barring.

Edit: Disciples insignias x5 on me and dunk. Gave dunk a 40/40 heal set and I swap between 40/20/20 and shield set. Just noticed you asked that too.
